Oppose healthcare access restrictions harming marginalized groups

The proposed "No Tax Breaks for Radical Corporate Activism Act" is a concerning piece of legislation that aims to restrict access to essential healthcare services for vulnerable groups. By denying employers the ability to claim tax deductions for reimbursing employees' costs related to abortion care or gender-affirming care for minors, this bill creates financial barriers that could prevent many from accessing these vital services. Access to safe and legal abortion care is a fundamental human right, and should not be hindered by financial obstacles. Furthermore, gender-affirming care for transgender and non-binary youth is medically necessary, evidence-based care that supports their health and well-being. Denying access to such care can have severe negative impacts on these young individuals' mental and physical health. While the bill allows deductions for procedures related to intersex traits, it discriminates against transgender and non-binary youth by excluding gender-affirming care from tax deductions. This is a harmful and unethical distinction that reinforces stigma and marginalization of these vulnerable communities. It is crucial that healthcare decisions remain between patients, their families, and their healthcare providers, without undue interference from the government. This bill represents an overreach into personal healthcare choices and could set a dangerous precedent for further erosion of reproductive rights and access to gender-affirming care. I urge you to oppose this legislation, which would have detrimental consequences for marginalized communities and infringe upon essential healthcare rights. Instead, we should be working towards policies that expand access to comprehensive, affordable, and inclusive healthcare for all.
