The NYTimes just published an article about "de-naturalization" of citizens as a counter-terrorism measure, holding out the threat to anyone who might become a citizen and then commit crimes. That we even have the legal resources to consider this move means we have the resources to work harder at getting people naturalized more quickly, instead of making them wait and work for a decade or more in poverty while taking their tax money and holding deportation over their heads for even attempting to keep their families safe and provide a better life for them. The system is too broken to add work to it. And if we're serious about tackling terrorists on our own soil, we need to work harder against the rise of white supremacy, instead of working against the very people whose work provides the backbone and foundation of this country.
