Oppose Arizona SB1003: Harmful "Bathroom Bill" Violating Student Rights SB1003 proposes requiring public schools to provide "reasonable accommodations" for restroom access based on biological sex rather than gender identity. However, such measures have been widely denounced by health experts and advocacy groups as discriminatory and harmful. Denying transgender students the ability to use facilities matching their gender increases risks of violence, harassment, and emotional trauma without benefiting safety. Major organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Psychological Association, and RAINN oppose these policies, recognizing they violate human rights and fail to address real issues. For the well-being of all students, schools should adopt inclusive practices recommended by professionals rather than pursuing divisive and counterproductive legislation like SB1003.
