The recent 20-point plan for peace in Gaza is improvement from nothing...yet the questions remain. Is this really the best that we can offer - requiring the oppressed to give up their arms to the oppressors for the vague promises of statehood and freedom? Can we not do better for the thousands of lives already lost to gunfire, starvation, bombings, lack of healthcare, lack of resources and lack of any basic human dignity? For the thousands that still live and are in dire need of basic resources like healthcare, medication, food, water, shelter (resources that sit rotting right over the border)? Is this really the best world we can be? How long must the world watch as another culture is slowly, savagely erased from its surface? How long must we watch as the rich & powerful virtually dance on the graves of mass murders and plan for a “real estate bonanza”? This is nauseating & appalling. Please do everything you can to bring healing to the immense suffering in Gaza. Show us how to stand up to narcissistic bullies who care for nothing more than the depth of their wallets. This cannot be how the world operates…unspeakable riches for the powerful and unspeakable suffering for vulnerable people. History is watching and is remembering how individuals and communities choose to act…or not. We believe that you can help bring about peace to (one part of) a world that so urgently needs it.
