An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Ensure Swift Release of Epstein Files Despite DOJ Investigation

3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am writing to express my gratitude for your vote in favor of the bill to release all files related to Jeffrey Epstein. This unanimous Senate decision, coupled with overwhelming bipartisan support in the House, demonstrates a clear public mandate for transparency in this critical matter. While I appreciate President Trump's commitment to sign this legislation, I am deeply concerned about potential delays in the release of these files. The Justice Department's ongoing investigations, particularly those directed by the President regarding Epstein's ties to former President Bill Clinton and JP Morgan Chase officials, must not impede the timely disclosure of this information. The legislation's provision allowing the DOJ to withhold information that could interfere with ongoing federal investigations is understandable. However, this clause should not be used as a blanket justification for extensive delays. The public interest in these files is paramount, and their release is crucial for ensuring accountability and justice. I urge you to use your position to advocate for a swift and comprehensive release of the Epstein files. While Speaker Mike Johnson has suggested amendments to better protect victims and whistleblowers, it is vital that any such changes do not result in further delays or redactions that could obscure important truths. The recent reversal of opposition to this bill, as noted by some Democrats, underscores the importance of maintaining pressure to ensure its full implementation. We must not allow political maneuvering or bureaucratic processes to hinder the pursuit of truth and justice in this case. I ask that you actively monitor the DOJ's handling of these files and push for regular updates on the release process. If significant delays occur, I implore you to demand explanations and take legislative action if necessary to expedite the release. The victims, their families, and the American public deserve nothing less than full transparency in this matter of grave national importance.
