I'm writing today to strongly urge a moratorium on AI data centers until regulations are in place to protect our environment and jobs. AI data centers are projected to harm the land, air, and water surrounding them. They are also projected to take away white collar jobs. Tech companies must not be allowed to avoid or delay fiscal responsibility for detrimental impacts. I do not want a barren environmental wasteland with no opportunity. Your duty is to protect constituents, not tech companies.
