An open letter to the U.S. Congress

End the Iran War Now — Don't Wait Until After the Midterms

85 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

You need to act now to end the war in Iran — not after November, not after the midterms, now. Reuters is reporting that White House officials are deliberately holding off on escalation until after the election to protect their seats. That's not a national security strategy. That's using American troops as a political prop. Sixty-three percent of Americans oppose this war. Secretary Hegseth has already extended deployments into 2027, pushing troops to their limits and creating a maintenance backlog that puts lives at risk. The administration is openly discussing how to "declare the war over" while simultaneously planning to escalate it. That is a lie being told to the American people, and Congress has both the authority and the obligation to stop it. Use that authority. Demand a full accounting of the legal basis for this conflict, block any funding for post-November escalation, and push for an immediate ceasefire. People are dying while officials count votes.
