Block federal funding for Trump's proposed 250-foot triumphal arch at Memorial Circle. This project has no Congressional approval, bypassed historic preservation review, and is being rammed through over the objections of veterans, gold star families, and aviation safety experts. That's not how you honor the people buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
Jon Gundersen, a retired Army veteran who served in Vietnam, put it plainly: "Anyone I talk to, whether Republican or Democrat, they say it's a waste of money and it's not how you honor vets." Now the administration wants to add military drones and snipers to the structure, raising serious safety questions for one of the nation's busiest airport flight paths. The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation cut its own review short after just two meetings to fast-track approval. This process has been corrupted at every step.
Congress has the power to stop this by cutting off the money. Use it.
