Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
Well of course the Trump administration played politics with the Covid pandemic. Who didn’t know that? It’s disconcerting that the obvious always takes so long to become obvious.
Now we have an official governmental report showing the myriad ways an American President was derelict in his duty to protect the American people during a crisis. That shows yes, of course his sole concern was for his own political future.
Instead of duty, he chose lies, disinformation, retaliation against those trying to help the country and its people. He used his office to squelch, to intimidate, to stifle.
His response was horrific. And thousands and thousands and thousands died needlessly.
His place in history will reflect the opposite of what he was hoping with all his awful machinations. Because all the lies in the world don’t work when people are dying.
Add this obvious wretched dereliction to his loss of the Presidency, the loss of the House, the loss of the Senate, the inciting of an insurrection, and a failed but still in progress attempt to overthrow the 2020 election and what do you have?
The undisputed leader of the Republican Party.
This is the best the GOP has to offer?
Boy, y’all have a lot to learn about what winning looks like.
