An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Vote No on the SAVE Act

336 so far! Help us get to 500 signers!

Vote no on the SAVE Act. This bill is an unconstitutional overreach that would create unnecessary barriers to voting for millions of eligible Americans, and I expect you to block it from advancing in the Senate. The House has already pushed through two versions of this legislation, and the pressure is now on the Senate to stop it. Requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote disproportionately burdens low-income voters, elderly citizens, and naturalized Americans who may not have easy access to the required documents. Non-citizens are already barred from voting under existing federal law. This bill solves a problem that doesn't exist while making it harder for real constituents like me to participate in democracy. Do not let this pass. Vote no on the SAVE Act and make clear that voter suppression dressed up as election integrity will not get through the Senate on your watch.
