An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Condemn the torture of Dr.Hussam Abu. Impose an arms embargo on Israel

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya's torture underscores the urgent need to hold Israel accountable for it's systematic human rights violations against Palestinians. The torture and abuse he has endured, including 13 consecutive days of interrogation lasting 8-10 hours each, is unconscionable. His declining health due to Israel's starvation policies against Palestinian prisoners is deeply concerning. It is imperative that Dr. Abu Safiya be released immediately and unconditionally. His arbitrary detention without due process, is a flagrant violation of international law. Israel's torture of the director of a hospital in Gaza, abducted during a military seige, exemplifies the criminality of the occupation and suppression of Palestinian human rights. An comprehensive arms embargo on Israel should be imposed to prevent Israel from further entrenching its brutal military occupation and apartheid regime. www.palestinechronicle.com/dr-abu-safiya-interrogated-for-13-consecutive-days-tortured-and-abused/
