Trump's $46.5B Border Wall Destroys Art Older Than Pyramids

I am writing as a concerned constituent to urge you to halt border wall construction in West Texas, specifically through Seminole Canyon State Park and the Big Bend region. This remote, unwalled stretch contains world-class masterworks of rock art—including 27 ancient murals dating back thousands of years, making them even older than the Egyptian pyramids. According to Texas State University archaeologist Dr. Carolyn Boyd, heavy equipment and blasting vibrations from steel bollard construction will permanently shatter these fragile archaeological treasures. Building a physical wall in this region is both culturally destructive and financially redundant. Extreme terrain and sheer canyon walls already serve as a formidable natural barrier against illegal crossings. Allocating funds from the $46.5 billion expansion to this rugged area wastes taxpayer dollars on redundant physical infrastructure where geographic features already secure the border. Once these prehistoric cultural masterworks are destroyed by construction, no amount of funding can restore them. Please exercise oversight, restrict funding for physical barriers in sensitive cultural zones, and prioritize modern, non-invasive surveillance over destructive bollard fencing. Protecting America's borders should not require erasing our continent's irreplaceable human heritage.
