Regulate and End Flock Camera Abuse in Ohio

Pass legislation to regulate and rein in the unchecked use of Flock Safety cameras across Ohio. These devices are far more than license plate readers — they capture vehicle make, color, and occupant data, building detailed movement profiles on ordinary Ohioans. Local law enforcement and private entities are deploying them with no meaningful oversight, no data retention limits, and no requirement for public notice. Every day these cameras operate without regulation, they build records of where Ohioans go, when, and how often. That data can be shared with other agencies, sold, or subpoenaed with minimal legal hurdles. Other states have moved to require warrants for bulk data access, strict retention windows, and mandatory transparency reports. Ohio has done nothing. I want a bill that sets hard limits on data retention, requires a warrant before law enforcement can access stored records, mandates public disclosure when cameras are installed, and bans the sale of this data to third parties. Ohioans deserve to move through their communities without being tracked. Get this done.
