Oppose Alabama's anti-immigrant SB 53, protect humanitarian aid

SB 53 must be rejected outright as it needlessly enacts state-level punishments for actions already prohibited under federal law. This legislation does nothing but embolden racial profiling and instill fear in immigrant communities, discouraging vulnerable populations from accessing vital services. Immigration is a federal purview, and Alabama has no justification for advancing discriminatory policies that criminalize basic acts of human compassion.
