Defend DC's Local Autonomy, Oppose Federal Overreach

President Trump's takeover of the Washington, DC police department and deployment of federal forces is an alarming violation of local autonomy that undermines democratic norms. This authoritarian overreach erodes the District's ability to self-govern and maintain a separation between civilian policing and the military. As residents and citizens, we must stand united against any federal actions that infringe on our civil liberties and the principles of self-determination on which this nation was founded.
