Day 9 of a Letter a Day to End Forced Birth

An amazing phenomenon throughout history is that when the women in a society have control over their lives and specifically their reproductive health, that society has been shown to be stronger, healthier, and more productive. When women are allowed to participate in society on their terms--specifically when deciding who they want to partner with, when and in what conditions they want to raise children--the entire group prospers from the broader perspective, the increased labor and skill, the more even sharing of burdens. This is one of many reasons I'm writing a letter a day until we end forced birth. The protections offered under Roe v Wade must be enshrined in law.
