My mother’s maiden name was Flagg. It is perhaps because of this that I was raised to be patriotic and to love our flag and the country it represents. Since I have written to you before, you are aware of my feelings for the current president. I thought, after his racist, cruel, crude, and inappropriate comments and actions, that I had seen it all. Then I opened my “X” feed to see a photo of the east wing of the Whitehouse being demolished for a pet project of this despicable man. How offensive! Not only is he desecrating a national treasure, he lied about his ballroom’s impact on the structure. How much will you allow him to ruin? Remember you represent me and you are part of a co-equal branch of our government. DO SOMETHING! Protect our national monuments. Protect us.
