When Trump Is Gone, Where Will You Stand?

As a lifelong Republican and a proud Texan, I find myself asking a question that I never thought I would have to ask: Is the Republican Party still the party of conservative values, or has it become nothing more than a personal cult? For decades, the GOP stood for limited government, individual liberty, law and order, strong national defense, and personal responsibility—values rooted in both constitutional conservatism and Christian morality. The Republican Party of Reagan and Bush championed these ideals, even when it meant standing up to strong personalities. The party was about principles, not loyalty to a single man. Now, it seems that has changed. The new Republican Party isn’t about conservatism—it’s about Trump. The man at the center of it demands absolute loyalty, punishes those who think for themselves, and spends more time settling personal grievances than governing. And let’s be honest—Trump isn’t going to be around forever. Given his health and stress levels, he is one cheeseburger short of a heart attack. Where will you stand when he is gone? Are you committed to the Republican Party of limited government, personal freedoms, and moral leadership? Or are you just following along with the authoritarian, grievance-driven, personality cult that Trump has built? And what about the so-called “leaders” of this new movement? Trump himself doesn’t even trust some of them. J.D. Vance, for example, acts like a pissed-off entitled frat boy—jumping on board with whatever his new hero tells him to do, despite having criticized Trump in the past. Is that the future of the GOP? Blind obedience instead of independent conservative thought? As a Texas Republican, I can tell you this: We are not cult members. We believe in strong values, not blind loyalty to any one man. So, I ask you again: • When Trump is gone, where will you stand? • Does this new party truly reflect Republican and Christian values? • Are you a Republican or just a follower of Trump? I hope you will respond with honesty because these are the questions that matter. The future of the Republican Party depends on it.
