Support Block The Bombs Act - Stop Weapons Supply to Israel

Today I take pen in hand to write and ask you to co-sponsor H.R. 3565, the Block the Bombs Act, introduced in Congress in May. This historic bill proactively challenges U.S. complicity in Israeli atrocity crimes against Palestinians in Gaza, and indiscriminate bombing and/or missile attacks against Iran by prohibiting the transfer of specific U.S.-sourced weapons to Israel. The Block the Bombs Act specifically prohibits the transfer and sale of U.S. weapons that have consistently been used in mass civilian casualty incidents resulting in serious breaches of international law and violations of existing U.S. laws. Israeli forces operate with near complete disregard for international law while the United States has exploited discretion entrusted to the President in existing U.S. laws to continue supplying Israel with U.S. bombs and munitions in spite of widespread and credible allegations of atrocity crimes committed by Israeli forces against Palestinians in Gaza with U.S. weapons. President Trump has repeatedly stated his support for the Israeli government's offensive against Palestinians and now Iran. Congress must take back power from the Trump administration and stop the flow of weapons to Israel. It is well past time for a necessary and practical legislative vehicle like H.R. 3565 to end U.S. complicity in Israeli crimes. As a constituent, I implore you to do everything possible to end U.S. complicity in Israeli atrocity crimes and urge you to prioritize human rights and uphold international law and existing U.S. laws by supporting this legislation.
