An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Review migrant deportation cases, uphold due process protections

16 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

The deportation of migrants based solely on tattoos, without proper due process or evidence of criminal activity, is a violation of civil liberties and the principles of justice. Resorting to such broad generalizations and punitive measures against individuals, many of whom lack criminal records, is unacceptable. It undermines the rule of law and goes against the ideals this nation was founded upon. We must uphold legal procedures and human rights by verifying allegations on an individual basis before rendering punishment. The indiscriminate removal of people to work prisons in foreign lands, away from their homes and families, is a grave injustice that tarnishes our reputation as a beacon of freedom and opportunity. We call for the immediate review of these cases and the restoration of due process to prevent further erosion of the civil liberties that have long been a source of pride for our society.
