Don’t Revoke Legal Status for Migrants!

The Trump administration's decision to revoke legal status for over 240,000 Ukrainian migrants who fled the conflict with Russia is deeply concerning. These individuals were welcomed with open arms under the previous administration's humanitarian parole programs, providing them a path to safety and legal residency in the United States. Revoking their status now would upend their lives and potentially subject them to rapid deportation proceedings, despite posing no threat. Moreover, this harsh move is part of a broader effort to strip protections from over 1.8 million migrants granted temporary legal status to escape violence, persecution, and instability in their home countries. Deporting individuals who followed proper legal channels to seek refuge in the United States would be a betrayal of American values and a violation of our moral obligation to provide sanctuary to those in need. I urge you to take immediate action to preserve the legal status and protections for Ukrainian migrants, as well as other vulnerable populations covered under humanitarian parole programs. These individuals have firmly established lives in American communities and revoking their status would be both inhumane and destabilizing.
