Reject Nomination of Emil Bove for 3rd Circuit Court. He’s Unfit, Unethical.

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to reject the nomination of Emil Bove for Third Circuit Court of Appeals. It’s a clear conflict of interest, since Bove was one of President Trump’s defense lawyers in cases levied against him. I also oppose his nomination for the following reasons: As Trump's former defense attorney who represented him during his criminal trial involving hush money payments, Bove's actions raise serious ethical concerns that undermine the integrity of the judicial system. Bove abused his position by ordering federal prosecutors to drop a corruption case against the New York City mayor, overstepping his authority. When prosecutors refused, Bove took over the case himself - an unprecedented move that prompted 11 prosecutors to resign in protest. This blatant attempt to interfere in an ongoing case for political motivations shows a disregard for judicial independence and the rule of law. Additionally, Bove signed off on several policy changes within the Justice Department aimed at removing perceived political bias, but which critics argue threaten the department's traditional independence from the White House. He must not be further rewarded with a judgeship where he can serve for decades and undermine our democracy and our fundamental civil and human rights. Confirming Bove to a lifelong federal appellate judgeship would be an affront to the principles of an impartial judiciary. His questionable conduct and clear conflicts of interest make him unfit to serve on the federal bench. I implore you to prioritize maintaining the integrity of our judicial system by rejecting this nomination, and voting NO at every turn. Thank you for your service.
