AI is and will completely transform our lives. Probably in more profound ways than even the coming of the internet and perhaps social media. The US Congress, because of the influence of money, failed to adequately regulate either of those former transformative technologies. The internet should be regulated as a utility. Instead, corporations run which should be a universal right solely according to their profits. Social media has become an addictive destroyer of our democracy, all in the name of profits. Congress now has the opportunity to rein in the destructive power of profits when it comes to the implementation of AI, probably the most transformative technology yet discovered or employed by humankind. Congress has failed and failed and failed to regulate corporations for the benefit of all US citizens. Don't fail us now!!! Regulate AI to make it serve the American people rather than enslave them.
