An open letter to the U.S. Congress

HELP Meriden Resident Intifada Aziz Abdelghani and Son to Return Back Home

45 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

I am writing to urgently bring to your attention the case of Intifada Aziz Abdelghani, a Meriden resident, and her 14-year-old son, both American citizens, who are currently trapped in the West Bank. They were scheduled to fly back to the United States on August 14 but were prevented from leaving after Israeli authorities banned them from traveling solely because they are Palestinian. Despite being longtime residents of Meriden since 2013 and having traveled to the West Bank many times to visit family, this time Ms. Abdelghani and her son were subjected to repeated interrogations and multiple invasive searches. They remain unable to return home to Connecticut. As your constituent, I urge you to take immediate action to ensure their safe passage back to the United States. This is not only a matter of protecting American citizens abroad, but also of upholding their fundamental rights and dignity. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.
