I'm writing to you as a constituent that has benefitted or know those who have benefitted from SSRIs and other mental health medications. The current administration is concerned about the wrong overdosing of drugs. Rather than focus on addictive medications such as opioids or nicotine, they've chosen to focus on removing improvements to mental health, during a time when many Americans are anxious or depressed about the impacts of the current administration.
Per the Guardian, the administration has eliminated positions from the FDA that "appeared to focus on employees in the agency’s centers for food, medical devices and tobacco products – which includes oversight of electronic cigarettes."
As you should be aware, addictions to vaping and other forms of tobacco are a serious epidemic in our nation. Why is RFKJ, an openly former addict of heroin, focused on removing access to safe, peer reviewed, mental health medications rather than drugs with known addictive and otherwise negative impacts? Could it be that he is not truly looking to benefit the American People?
As a constituent who is anxious about the actions of the current administration, I'm glad to have the personal freedom to discuss my mental health with my personal care physician and potential medications if needed. I don't want the government stopping me from accessing safe, peer reviewed medicine.
Stop RFKJ and the other conservative anti-health care politicians from removing access to medication.
Stop the current administration from pushing their fear of science on average citizens.
Remove RFKJ and other conservative anti-science politicians from office.
