I’m reaching out to to all of my elected officials to demand that they reject AIPAC’s influence in all forms.
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee advocates for a US foreign policy that supports the unconditional flow of US military funding and weapons to the Israeli government.
These policies support the systemic violations of Palestinian rights, including the ongoing mass murder of civilians in Gaza and the current military takeover and destruction of the West Bank, as well as Israel’s system of apartheid and ethnic cleansing. To accept campaign contributions from AIPAC is to choose to be complicit in these crimes.
Even before October 7th, AIPAC explicitly targeted progressive members of Congress – predominantly women of color – for voting against legislation that would harm the Palestinian people. In 2022, AIPAC began making direct contributions to candidates and, through their new Super PAC the United Democracy Project, began spending millions targeting Democratic candidates who advocate for justice for Palestine and an end to the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian land.
This year AIPAC has pledged to spend $100 million or more to oust progressives from Congress and block progressive congressional hopefuls who stand with Palestine and have called for a permanent ceasefire. AIPAC has repeatedly attacked lawmakers, candidates, and activists who expose Israeli war crimes, lavishing representatives with massive contributions for their complicity in funneling continued unconditional military resources to Israel.
AIPAC’s support of US politicians is anti-Democratic and fuels a radical and hateful environment at home and abroad. Their position and influence work directly against the call for a lasting ceasefire, hostage exchange, and a path to equality, justice, and a thriving future for all, and by accepting support from AIPAC, you openly reject these principles.
