As your constituent, I want to thank you for supporting the Great American Outdoors Act and its success in restoring our national park infrastructure. This historic investment has not only improved visitor experiences but has also preserved our treasured natural and historic sites, supported local economies, and created tens of thousands of jobs.
I write today to urge you to support and swiftly pass the America the Beautiful Act, which would extend the maintenance fund established by the Great American Outdoors Act. This continued investment is critical to repairing aging infrastructure—such as visitor centers, water systems, roads, and campgrounds—and protecting the ecosystems and historic landmarks that make our public lands so special.
Our national parks are a source of pride, education, and inspiration. They drive billions in economic activity and support countless businesses in gateway communities. The five-year funding stream from the original act is set to expire this year, and without action, decades of progress could stall.
Please do everything in your power to ensure the continued success of this legacy by supporting the America the Beautiful Act.
