This weekend, ICE illegally abducted Palestinian protestor Mahmoud Khalil, who is a permanent resident. Columbia University, whose apartment property Khalil was arrested on, said ICE needed a warrant, but would not comment on whether one was presented. Informed of Khalil’s green card, Homeland Security said it was revoked - this is actually up to an immigration judge to decide.
President Trump doubled down on Truth Social today, saying he’s proud of this action on his orders, and will arrest more “terrorist sympathizers” on Columbia and other college campuses.
This has to be nipped in the bud - the President cannot be allowed to violate first amendment rights and disappear a permanent resident simply because they are a political opponent. This WILL embolden him to eventually arrest anyone he disagrees with.
