An open letter to State Governors (N.H. only)

Be Pro-Choice & Keep Our Patient Safety Zone Law in Place (You Must VETO HB1625)

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

As a Granite State voter and Manchester resident, I'm urging you to keep your word and veto HB 1625, which would repeal New Hampshire's patient safety zone law. No one should face intimidation or fear for their safety or privacy when accessing health care. Unfortunately, this is not always the case for patients at reproductive health care centers. Providers, patients, and facilities are frequently the targets of violence and harassment, ranging from vandalism to threats to deadly attacks. New Hampshire statute currently allows for carefully tailored, community specific patient safety zones. It is an important tool in the toolbox to ensure patient and public safety. There was even a photo featured in the New York Times on May 7 (2022) about volunteers AND protestors in our capital city of CONCORD. As states move to change abortion laws (to protect OR restrict), protestors will travel to states (near and far) that still allow abortion care, including New Hampshire. **Now is NOT the time to repeal a law that provides for increased patient and public safety measures.** I urge you to protect patient safety by vetoing HB 1625.
