Constituent Demand: Congressional Action to Prevent Conflict with NATO Allies

I am writing to express my profound alarm regarding recent statements from multiple executive branch officials suggesting the forced annexation or military takeover of Greenland. This is not a "real estate deal"—it is a catastrophic threat to American security, prosperity, and our standing in the world.
Should the administration move from posturing to action, the consequences would be immediate and irreversible:
• The Collapse of NATO: Attacking a fellow NATO member (Denmark) would trigger Article 5 against ourselves. Our alliances would dissolve, leaving Europe to rearm and align against us as a rogue aggressor.
• Military Eviction: We risk the immediate closure of vital U.S. bases across Europe, including Ramstein and Lakenheath, effectively ending our ability to project power and stripping away our first line of national defense.
• Economic Ruin: The European Union and global markets would likely respond with the "economic nuclear option"—dumping U.S. debt and devaluing the dollar. The resulting inflation and the exclusion of American companies from global markets would incinerate trillions in domestic wealth.
• Global Pariah Status: The United States would face the same total isolation currently reserved for international outcasts, including travel bans, asset seizures, and cultural expulsion from the world stage.
We the people do not want this. We will not trade our global stability and economic future for a "Donroe Doctrine" fantasy. I expect Congress to exercise its constitutional role as a co-equal branch of government to stop this madness before it starts.
Specifically, I am asking you to take the following actions:
1. Introduce or Co-sponsor a "Sovereignty Defense Act": Legislation that explicitly prohibits the use of federal funds for any military operation or "hybrid warfare" aimed at the annexation of Greenland or the infringement of Danish sovereignty.
2. Publicly Reaffirm Article 5: Issue a formal bipartisan statement alongside your colleagues declaring that any hostile action against a NATO ally is a violation of the North Atlantic Treaty and a threat to U.S. national security.
3. Hold Emergency Oversight Hearings: Demand that the Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense testify before Congress regarding the administration's "hard way" rhetoric and the presence of any unauthorized "influence campaigns" in Greenland.
4. Strengthen Diplomacy: Support increased funding for diplomatic engagement with the Kingdom of Denmark and the Greenlandic Self-Government to pursue Arctic security through cooperation, not coercion.
The American people deserve a foreign policy rooted in reality, not dangerous posturing. I look forward to hearing how you intend to prevent this potential national suicide.
