Trump’s $20 Billion Argentina Pledge Exposes Open Corruption

Donald Trump recently pledged $20 billion in U.S. “aid” to Argentina - money that, by his own description, would flow to that nation’s political and social elites. Soon after, he walked back the offer, declaring that the funds would be released only if his preferred candidate wins Argentina’s upcoming presidential election.
This is not foreign policy. It’s corruption in plain sight.
Using U.S. taxpayer dollars as leverage to influence another country’s election, and to boost Trump’s personal favorite, is the definition of fraud, waste, and abuse. It’s a blatant attempt to turn America’s foreign assistance into a campaign slush fund for authoritarian allies.
Every member of Congress - Republican, Democrat, and Independent - should speak out immediately against this grotesque misuse of public money. Silence in the face of this kind of corruption signals complicity.
The American people deserve leaders who defend democracy, not those who would sell it for political gain.
