Restore ICE Detainee Locator Access and End the Digital Disappearing of Immigrants

On September 15, ICE quietly deleted thousands of detainees facing deportation orders from its public online locator — and paired that with a new policy barring officials from disclosing detainee locations at all. This is not an administrative tweak. This is the government deliberately hiding people from their lawyers and families to prevent them from challenging their own removal.
ACLU attorney My Khanh Ngo, whose clients include eight Somali men held at Guantanamo Bay, said this makes it "nearly impossible" to fight deportation cases. She's right. You cannot get information to a court to stop a removal if you cannot find your client. The American Immigration Lawyers Association confirms attorneys are being systematically cut off from their clients. That is not enforcement — that is the destruction of due process.
Demand that ICE immediately restore full detainee locator access and rescind the policy barring location disclosure. The administration has already sent over 25,000 people to countries they had no prior connection to, spent $410 million on deportation agreements, and is now shooting DoorDash drivers and transferring them out of hospitals against medical advice. Every official who authorized this disappearing of detainees must be held accountable. Do your job and stop this.
