I am your constituent and I have some information for you about Universal Healthcare. Here are a few of the “features” of the healthcare in the U.S. that we enjoy now. 85,000,000 of us are either uninsured or underinsured 100,000,000 of us have $200 billion in medical debt 42% of cancer patients go broke within two years of diagnosis paying for their healthcare 27,000,000 of us lost our healthcare when we lost our jobs during the pandemic Federal workers who are illegally being fired - not laid off - lose their health insurance immediately We have the worst life expectancy of any industrialized country We have the highest infant mortality of any industrialized country We have the highest maternal mortality of any industrialized country Every industrialized country has a universal healthcare system of some kind that covers everyone in their country. We all deserve a healthcare system that works for all us and here is why. Universal healthcare will save our country $650 billion EVERY YEAR starting in year 1 according to the Congressional Budget Office. The global budgets of Medicare For All will ensure that medical facilities have their infrastructure costs covered and so will be able to stay open - nor forced to close the way private equity bleeds them dry The regional administrators of Medicare For All will have budgets to allow them to grow and place facilities where needed most to eliminate medical deserts so we can all see a doctor when we need to. U.S. Industry will be way more competitive with the rest of the world since they won’t have to pony up15% -18% of payroll to pay for healthcare for their employees We are covered cradle to grave and 70% of Americans WANT Universal Healthcare It is time for you to stand up and represent the 70% of your constituents that want Universal Healthcare and enact the Medicare For All Act.
