An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Uphold Constitution, Prevent Militarization of Immigration Enforcement

24 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

The deployment of military forces for domestic law enforcement violates the Posse Comitatus Act, a longstanding federal law that prohibits the use of the armed forces in a police role except in exceptional circumstances approved by Congress. This flagrant disregard for civil liberties and the militarization of immigration enforcement is deeply concerning. I urge you to uphold the Constitution and prevent further erosion of the separation between civilian and military authorities. Failure to address this issue could set a dangerous precedent that undermines fundamental rights and democratic norms.
