I am your constituent and I want you to know that the Trump administration is announcing on 9/14/2026 that the United States will no longer limit the planet-warming pollution that power plants pump into the air while burning coal and gas.
Power plants produce 25% of America’s greenhouse gases responsible for climate change. Those folds, hurricanes, and heat waves are the result of that climate change. The climate won’t heal itself, that is up to us.
According to the Sierra Club, exposure to air pollution from U.S. coal-fired power plants caused over 6,500 premature deaths in 2024. The National Institutes of Health also identified premature deaths as a result of the fine particulate matter release, (NIH)
Additionally, burning coal releases toxic metals like mercury, lead, and arsenic, which harm human neurological and developmental systems. The metals are often found in the toxic ash after burning and eventually have wound up in water supplies where they do cause cancer. (Union of Concerned Scientists)
It is in your hands to stop this madness and protect our health and the environment and restore the Environmental Protection Agency to it’s mission instead of the environmental destruction that they are currently pursuing. I am depending on you.
