Silence Is Complicity, It’s Time to Draw the Line on Trump

Since January 2025, President Trump has treated the presidency as his personal playbook. He breaks established rules, blurs the lines of decency, and dares anyone to oppose him. Yet, many of you remain silent. Trump attempted to erase the 14th Amendment with an executive order to end birthright citizenship, but this move was blocked as unconstitutional (U.S. News, May 2025). He also dismantled anti-discrimination protections that had been in place for six decades, which opened the door to bias in federal contracting (Reuters, January 23, 2025). During his time in office, Trump launched his own cryptocurrency, promoted it to his donors, and profited from foreign investments—most notably, a $2 billion Abu Dhabi-backed stake in Binance, a firm that has been fined for money laundering (The Guardian, May 2025). This is clear corruption in plain sight. Additionally, he slashed over $800 million in Department of Justice public safety grants, which negatively impacted drug programs, weakened gun violence prevention efforts, and defunded local police partnerships (NPR, May 24, 2025). All the while, he has perpetuated a false narrative that immigrants are a threat to our safety. His lies and rhetoric will not blind us. This behavior does not reflect authentic leadership; it is lawlessness. No president, whether Republican or Democrat, should profit from the presidency or punish the people he vowed to serve. We demand investigations. We must draw the line. Just because you choose to remain silent does not mean that history will. We, the people, demand justice, integrity, and accountability from our president and our government!
