I am writing today as your constituent to ask for your help.
The rising cost of living, unaffordable child care and eldercare, limited workplace benefits, and growing economic instability are putting unsustainable pressure on working families across the country. These are not isolated issues—they are systemic challenges that demand a legislative response.
Today, a full-time, year-round worker earning the federal minimum wage of $7.25 makes just $15,080 annually—below the federal poverty threshold. This is unacceptable. Hardworking Americans are falling further behind, not because they aren’t working, but because our wage policies have failed to keep pace with the economy.
Raising the federal minimum wage is a practical, proven policy solution. It would lift millions of workers out of poverty, strengthen household financial security, and reduce reliance on public assistance. It would also support businesses by lowering turnover and increasing consumer demand in local economies.
We urge you to prioritize the passage of the Raise the Wage Act of 2025. This is a critical investment in the strength of our workforce, the health of our economy, and the well-being of families in every district. Americans need action—not just recognition of the problem.
Thank you for helping out ALL Americans succeed.
