It’s time for the democratic Senate to play hardball. As a minority, it’s hard to gain ground, and in this environment of Trump’s yes-stamp senators, the usual congenial across-the-aisle approach is not working — time to slow things down. It’s time for democrats to find new leadership and be visible via the tactics of blanket opposition on all nominees, repeatedly calling for quorum calls, and blocking unanimous consent. You know how procedural hardball works — slow the republicans down, force them to conduct all business, require them to be in attendance, vote “no” on even reasonable policy and nomination, bring attention to the issues, etc. Show your constituency you understand what’s happening to Senate power.
