Quote for the day…”Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.”
Now back to attempted murder of the First and Fifth amendments by the current president, a.k.a. Delicate Don.
He’s banning any and all media that hurts his feelings. Off with their heads.
Pete Hegseth, promptly posted that the Defense Department fully supported Trump’s decision.
I bet he does. Because we’ve been reading reporting that Russia has been helping Iran target US troops, while the Trump administration also makes an energy deal with them. And that the Defense Department has been dodgy on accounting for deaths of servicemembers or destruction of US military bases.
After the backlash firestorm this weekend Trump posted: “The White House is not instituting an assault on the Free Press, something which I cherish. It is instituting an assault on the FAKE NEWS, something that has grown like Cancer in our beloved United States of America. It is corrupt, purposeful, pervasive, fully coordinated, and totally out of control. It is a threat to our National Security, and must be stopped, NOW!”
Besides the master-projecting, there’s that “national security” claim again. The same justification for building his bunker ballroom. And now the sniper/drone/arsenal disguised as a triumphal arch.
We’re learning how the press pool works. ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC News take turns providing TV coverage of the prez. CNN was supposed to be in charge of the TV pool yesterday. With CNN banned, the other networks refused to take its place, leaving TV coverage of Trump suspended.
So he held an event at the WH, but without a press pool. And without audio. It was just footage of Trump standing with a group of people and apparently talking.
But miraculously we were offered “The White House App” on social media, claiming users could “[g]et real-time updates and live events streamed DIRECTLY to your phone. No noise. Just the news that matters most—straight from the Trump Administration. DOWNLOAD NOW,” it said.
Did The Onion write this?
Best comment: “I’d rather launch my phone into the sun than install a government propaganda app.”
Others noted that only a fool would install what could be government spyware on their phone.
Gas prices now average $4.48/gallon. $1.50 more than before Trump started a war with Iran.
Diesel is nearing $6.50/gallon, a record high.
All due to a war now in the seventh month that Trump vowed would be done within weeks.
Eighteen American service members dead, if not more.
Military bases bombed. Munitions depleted.
A trade war with Canada.
An obsession with the Kennedy Center. Which he might demolish like the East Wing.
Then there’s the grift. The self-dealing. A Russian oligarch paying for Trump’s son’s wedding party. Billions of dollars made by the Trump family.
Those are the facts. They may be unflattering, but they are not fake.
Maybe Trump should simply try being a better president.
Instead we get this…
The WH YouTube channel announced yesterday that at 7:00 pm it would launch “TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station.”
And he won’t have to worry about haters. The comment feature on the channel is turned off.
All Trump all the time. With no pushback. The man must be in heaven.
