Oppose Robert Chamberlin for Federal Bench: Another Threat to Justice

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to reject and vote NO on Robert Chamberlin for the Federal bench in Mississippi. Judge Chamberlin is not qualified. He’s not a jurist. He’s an extremist politician-turned-judge whose record reveals a consistent hostility toward reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ equality, voting rights, and the separation of church and state. When he was his time in the Mississippi Senate and on the state’s highest court, he weaponized the law as an instrument to entrench ideological priorities and protect the powerful while limiting the rights of everyday people and marginalized communities. His record is astonishingly bad on everything that our laws are designed to protect. His bias and weird, deep-seated ideology leaves little doubt that, if given the power of a lifetime federal judgeship, he would continue this pattern of harm on a national scale with broader consequences. He would clearly undermine the Constitution, Civil Rights, LGBTQ+ Rights, and characteristic of these extremists, anti-abortion and women’s health in a state that already ranks amongst the worst for all health care. Chamberlin’s elevation would be a crime against justice. The very fact that he’s gotten this far in the process is a warning that our rights are being eroded with every Trump nominee that’s confirm. For these reasons, and a review of his record ought to be enough to utterly reject Robert Chamberlin. Vote NO. Thank you.
