Legislative Reform Needed for Tesla's Direct Sales Model in Kansas

The exclusion of Tesla from the Kansas City Auto Show, due to the car dealer association's refusal to accept Tesla's direct sales model, underscores the need for legislative reform. Tesla's innovative approach, bypassing franchised dealerships, is currently incompatible with Kansas state law. This has resulted in a disappointing lack of representation for Tesla owners in Kansas, despite a robust community presence. It is essential to consider legislation that permits direct or indirect vehicle sales without a manufacturer's franchise agreement. This would cultivate a more inclusive and competitive market, fostering innovation and consumer choice. Current regulations appear to favor traditional dealership models, potentially suppressing competition and innovation. A reassessment of these regulations is requested to ensure a fair and progressive automotive market in Kansas.
