Americans woke up yesterday to reports that back in January the pentagon summoned the papal then-ambassador to America to a meeting. Whilst in this conference, an American official threatened the ambassador with a fourteenth century weapon and attempted to invoke Avignon Papacy, a move that the French used as leverage against the pope to make the Catholic Church bend to its whims. This is not the medieval ages. This is 2026. This is not France or Italy. This is the United States of America. This is not normal. What are you planning to do about it?
