As a constituent, I am writing to express my profound opposition to your unwavering support for the war in Iran. Your recent statements—calling the conflict "effective," supporting the assassination of Iranian leaders, and being the sole Senate Democrat to vote against a war powers resolution—are deeply alarming.
This war has already cost American lives, with at least seven U.S. service members killed and around 140 wounded, while driving up global oil prices. This is unnecessary violence with no clear endgame. While you support this conflict, our communities face urgent crises. Millions of Americans are struggling financially and lack access to affordable healthcare. Every billion dollars spent on endless war is a billion dollars not spent on hospitals, housing, and economic relief here at home.
Your position is out of step with Pennsylvanians who are tired of sending our resources and troops to the Middle East. Continuing to back this war demonstrates a disregard for the needs of your constituents. If you maintain this support, you will force many of us to vote for your opponent in the next election: to be clear I will vote against you and will encourage all my friends, family, and neighbors to vote against you as well. I urge you to change course and advocate for de-escalation and peace.
