The decision to remove content related to women in leadership roles and other key diversity and inclusion initiatives from NASA's websites is deeply concerning. As a government agency funded by taxpayer dollars, NASA should be promoting and celebrating diversity, not erasing it. Women have played crucial roles throughout NASA's history, from the pioneering work of the "Hidden Figures" to the record-breaking spacewalks by female astronauts. Scrubbing references to their achievements is an insult to their contributions and a disservice to future generations of aspiring scientists and explorers. Furthermore, fostering an inclusive and equitable environment is vital for NASA to attract and retain top talent across all backgrounds. Diverse perspectives and experiences drive innovation and progress. By suppressing mentions of diversity programs, NASA risks alienating segments of its workforce and perpetuating systemic biases that have historically marginalized underrepresented groups in STEM fields. I urge you to call on NASA to immediately reinstate all content celebrating the agency's diversity and recommit to advancing equity and inclusion within its ranks. A space program that fails to reflect the diversity of the nation it represents is one that falls short of its full potential. NASA's mission should be to inspire all Americans, regardless of gender, race, or background, to reach for the stars.
