NO on H.R. 722 National Abortion Ban Bill

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you in the strongest possible terms to block/vote NO on H.R. 722, the bill to ban abortion nationwide.   We expected to see this once Roe v. Wade was overturned by a radical right Supreme Court. Even conservative states don’t want such a ban. This would be reaching into people’s private lives. Something Republicans themselves allegedly don’t want from government.   Once again, we see proposed legislation that would criminalize the transport of a young woman across state lines to obtain an abortion if she has not met the requirements of her state's parental consent law. This is police state tactics.   Although most teens involve their parents in the decision whether to have an abortion, those who do not are often the victims of family violence and abuse. Studies show that healthy family communication cannot be legislated.   In short, all such legislation endangers women's health and equality across all fifty states and is profoundly anti-democratic.   BUT MOSTLY, IT WILL COST WOMEN’S LIVES.   Those statistics are clear in states that already have such bans in place. Women have the right to be equal citizens and in charge of their own health care decisions.   Therefore, I once again urge you to use any legal means to block and Vote NO on H.R. 722.
