Infrastructure Bill Crypto Amendment

I’m contacting to ask that you support Senator Wyden, Toomey, and Lummis’s amendment to the cryptocurrency provision of the infrastructure bill (H.R. 3684). This amendment will ensure that the provision does not dramatically expand financial surveillance, harm innovation, or undermine human rights. Policies that impact basic freedom and the future of the Internet should be debated carefully and should never be attached to must-pass bills. Furthermore, I reject the Warner-Portman-Sinema amendment because it cedes the U.S.’s role in crypto. Proof of Stake has several unique benefits over Proof of Work (including reduced energy consumption) and it should be given fair treatment.
