Restore CDC Disease Surveillance and Hold RFK Jr. Accountable

Demand a full congressional investigation into RFK Jr.'s decision to shut down the CDC's Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network, and push for its immediate restoration. That decision has directly contributed to the worst cyclosporiasis outbreak ever recorded, now spanning 15 states, with Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and North Carolina among the latest affected. We cannot track what we refuse to monitor. This is not just a policy disagreement. Measles cases are climbing. Polio is resurfacing as a threat. And the administration's response has been to dismantle the very infrastructure designed to catch these outbreaks early. RFK Jr. made a deliberate choice to blind our public health system, and people are getting sick because of it. Congress has both the authority and the obligation to intervene. Hold hearings. Restore the surveillance network. Make clear that gutting disease tracking during a public health crisis has consequences. My family's safety should not be a casualty of ideological hostility toward public health agencies.
