Support Ukraine's Independence

America's enduring commitment to democracy and sovereignty should compel us to unequivocally support Ukraine's independence. The unprovoked Russian invasion poses a grave threat to the rules-based international order and violates Ukraine's territorial integrity. We must stand firm against Putin's aggression by providing robust military aid to help Ukraine defend itself. History has shown that appeasing authoritarian regimes only emboldens further transgressions. Protecting Ukraine's self-determination upholds the principles of freedom and self-governance that America has long championed on the global stage. Abandoning our ally would undermine our credibility and empower malign actors seeking to redraw borders by force. For the sake of regional stability and the democratic values we hold dear, the United States should intensify its backing for an independent, sovereign Ukraine.
