An open letter to the U.S. Congress

MO Reps Are Violating 1st Amendment

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Under the First Amendment, people have the right to peacefully protest and voice their opinions. Deploying military forces against lawful protesters is an excessive use of force that could escalate tensions and suppress free speech. While maintaining public order is important, the government should use restraint and prioritize de-escalation tactics that protect civil liberties. Militarizing the response to protests risks violating constitutional rights and undermining the public's trust. I urge you to reconsider this approach and ensure law enforcement respects the right to peaceful assembly when dealing with demonstrations. There are better ways to facilitate orderly protests that don't involve intimidating citizens or curtailing their freedoms.
