Elon Musk Is a National Threat — Remove Him Now

Elon Musk’s grip on our government is an immediate and dire threat to our democracy, national security, and public trust. His unchecked power, deep financial conflicts, and reckless spread of disinformation make him unfit for any role in shaping federal policy. He has turned X into a propaganda machine, spreading conspiracy theories like Social Security being a “Ponzi scheme,” a blatant falsehood that sows distrust in one of America’s most vital programs (Truthout, 2025). He fuels global disinformation efforts while holding key contracts with our military and government. How can we allow someone who actively undermines public institutions to control critical national infrastructure? Musk’s business interests are in direct conflict with the safety and sovereignty of the United States. He has business ties with China, Russia, and other authoritarian regimes while controlling Starlink, the same technology used by our military (Mother Jones, 2025). His ability to manipulate communications during wartime should alarm every American. His interference in Ukraine’s defense efforts already demonstrated the catastrophic consequences of allowing a single billionaire to dictate global security (Sen. Ossoff Press Release, 2025). And now, under his influence, agencies like the FAA, National Weather Service, and IRS are being gutted, leaving American lives and public services in jeopardy (ProPublica, 2025). Musk has proven time and again that he prioritizes his own wealth and power over American democracy. He is not an elected official. He is not accountable to the American people. Yet he holds more influence over government operations than many of our representatives. This is not how democracy functions. It’s time for real leadership—Congress must immediately investigate Musk’s role in federal decision-making, scrutinize his contracts, and ensure no private citizen can wield this level of unchecked control over our national security, economy, and public trust. Terminate his involvement before the damage becomes irreversible.
